AQUEDUCT
CONSERVATION W.C
As part of the visitor's center complex of the old city of Acre, that is located at the festival garden leading to the Hospitaller citadel, a toilet building was designed along with the restoration of the adjacent aqueduct. The concept was to create a number of new surfaces cladded with sandstone.
Between the surfaces are the windows and entrances to the toilet. The stone surfaces with the stone wall of the historic structures create a sense of continuity of the new building with the old. Light and air penetrates into the building through a skylight made just of steel and glass. The doors and gutters were made as a new interpretation to traditional craftsmanship. The aqueduct was restored along with its water distributing device as part of Jazzar. Pasha's water system that transports water from the Kabri springs into Acre.
