KELERMAN HOUSE
The proposed design is due to the fact that the current building is part of a row of buildings that built at the beginning of the 20 the century and has a modest modernistic character to it. The facades of the buildings feature an entrance balcony that sticks out over the entrance to the buildings. We propose to preserve the current façade including the balcony as part of the preservation of the entire building's appearance. The façade will be preserved and re-designed.
The addition for this façade will be an elevator and a second floor that will be drawn back, enabling a big roof balcony. The addition will have a modernistic/Bauhaus modest design. The northern façade of the second floor is made mainly of glass including the elevator. Giving a lighter look to it. The height of the railing follows the high of that of the neighboring building.

The new addition has a "Bauhaus" modest character that fits the existing building. The first floor is designed as a sticking out a little from the surface behind it. It has two openings and a balcony in a way that keeps a connection between the facades and gives the bed room light, air and privacy. The upper floor is drawn back at the southern façade and it has shading elements in both facades, north and south.
The living room and bed room are at the first floor are "sunken" in from the façade. The creates a 3d effect and mainly shade and privacy. The property has some pine trees that are to be preserved. The trees have an important role for shading. As mentioned, the southern façade is designed in a way that the living room and bed room are at the first floor are "sunken" in from the façade in order to creates a 3d effect and mainly shade and privacy. Most of the western has big windows and the roof floor has shading elements. The façade facing the street is designed as the existing façade with small openings to preserve the privacy. The way the living room and bed room are at the first floor are "sunken" in from the façade enables a "protected"sitting area – interior yard.
